Thank you for visiting Christ Our Savior Parish thru our website. Christ Our Savior is a vibrant community of faith, hope and love, established on July 1, 2011 through the merging of St. Nicholas Parish and Holy Trinity Parish in Struthers. The heart of our life is our celebration of the Eucharist and other sacraments. We are nourished by the Word of God in the Scriptures and by the Word made flesh in Jesus, our Saviour. I hope you will join us in worshipping our Creator and God and that you will introduce yourself to me directly.
Christ Our Savior's two churches have a long history in Struthers, going back to 1865. We remain a vital and vibrant presence in this wonderful community of hard working people along the banks of Yellow Creek and the Mahoning River. God loves us and we love God and strive to show that love by service to others, especially the vulnerable and needy. Our School, CCD, Youth Ministry, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Parish Nurses, Bible Study, and RCIA help God's people here grow in their understanding of and love for God and others.
At Christ Our Savior, "holiness is our most important pursuit." Of course, we don't produce holiness. God does. But our life as a parish and the ministries we provide, from good liturgy to an excellent school to effective CCD and religious education to facilities at the service of the community -- all these activities hope to be effective ways that God can touch people's hearts and make them more like his own.
Come and visit. Come and stay. We are a people in love with God and striving to let that relationship show in our love for one another and for all humankind.
In Christ Our Savior's love,
Fr. Bob
