St. Nicholas Parish is collaboratively governed by the pastor working with the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Council. The Pastoral Council is responsible for setting the vision of the parish and the specific goals and objectives which constitute current priorities. The Finance Council is responsible for governing the parish's assets in a way that enables realization of the vision.

The Finance Council consists of 5-8 members recommended by the Council itself and appointed by the pastor. The Council usually meets during the 3rd week of the month to review monthly Finance Reports, monitor performance against a prepared budget, to approve mamjor expenses, and to govern the Parish Endowment Fund.

St. Nicholas Parish is blessed to have a $600,000 Endowment Fund which was established thru the gift of an individual to the parish in 1995. $400,000 of these funds are invested for the long term in the Diocese of Youngstown Foundation with a view to allowing them to grow to $1,000,000. The remaining $200,.000 are available for use to meet current parish needs. At this time the funds are largely reserved for the potential bulding or buying of a new rectory. In late August of 2009 the Finance council approved expenditure of $25,000 to upgrade the electrical system which supports our annual June Festival, bringing it up to code. Earlier the council had approved expenditure of $21,000 to repair drainage pipes in the school which were causing flooding during heavy rains and $4000 to make needed repairs on the school roof. In prior years significant sums were used to help meet various financial obligations. Over the years the Fund has generated close to $600,000 since its inception in 1995. The Finance Council is committed to preserving the $500,000 principal.
